This Week in the House of Delegates

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — As the West Virginia House of Delegates gets close to the halfway point of the regular 60-day session, members are spending even more time in debate during floor sessions and lengthy committee meetings. A total of 11 bills have completed legislation and are waiting for action from the Governor, including Senate Bill 14, which would allow more avenues for potential teachers to receive certification in an effort to mitigate the state’s current shortages for teachers.

This Week in the House of Delegates

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Members of the West Virginia House of Delegates spent a great deal of time this week in committee meetings debating proposals, and regular legislative session is now more than one-fourth complete, and a total of 25 House bills have passed the House out of 787 House bills introduced. Two more bills completed legislative action this week as well.

This Week in the House of Delegates 2-19-21

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The second week of the regular legislative session was exceptionally busy for the West Virginia House of Delegates. After meeting in a Saturday session Feb. 13, Delegates were poised to end this week having passed a total of 18 bills to the Senate for consideration, with the full Legislature having completed two measures that would make necessary updates to the tax code as well.

House of Delegates to Host State of the State Address Wednesday Night

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice has requested members of the West Virginia Legislature, the Board of Public Works and West Virginia Supreme Court Justices join him in the House of Delegate Chamber for his fifth State of the State address at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10. Justice’s March 2020 Executive Order prohibiting any visitors to the Capitol unless they have an appointment remains in place as does the indoor face covering requirement. No tickets to the event are being made available this year.
