Statement From Republican Leader Tim Armstead on One-Year Anniversary of Water Crisis
Looking back on the water crisis that occurred one-year ago, it is important to reflect on how everyone worked together and looked out for one another during such a difficult and challenging time. Our fire departments, law enforcement officers and emergency service agencies, as well as our churches and charitable organizations worked tirelessly to come to the aid of those impacted. These acts demonstrate our values of community and the strength and resiliency we all share as West Virginians.
I would also be remiss not to recognize the National Guard, the Department of Environmental Protection and the Bureau of Public Health for all of their work over the last year to protect our citizens and our water system. I value the spirit of cooperation from our state leaders that took precautionary measures to help protect our drinking water, and aided in taking steps that will help prevent this from ever happening again.
