Unger Pleased With Eastern Panhandle Jobs Announcement

CHARLESTON, W.V. – Senate Minority Whip John Unger (D-Berkeley) says today’s news that global consumer products giant Procter & Gamble (P&G) will be a new manufacturing plan in Berkeley County is great news.

“West Virginia is a great place to do business,” says Unger. “This investment in Berkeley County proves that we can provide quality career opportunities and good paying jobs for the hardworking men and women of this great state.”

The facility will be located just south of Martinsburg and is one of the largest projects in West Virginia’s history.

“The new P&G facility represents and investment of approximately $500 million, creating more than 700 new, full-time jobs when the plant opens for business in 2017.”

The new facility is just the second manufacturing location that Procter and Gamble has built in the United States since 1971. Governor Tomblin made the P&G manufacturing facility announcement during a morning press conference.
