Charleston – Today marks West Virginia University Day at the West Virginia Legislature.
Charleston – Today the House of Delegates passed the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (H.B.2568) by a vote of 87-12.
Charleston – Today, the West Virginia House of Delegates passed two bills that are a part of the major agenda items for the first session of the 82nd Legislature.
Acting decisively on the first day of the 82nd Legislature, the House of Delegates adopted an economic impact statement rule. This rule creates a process to allow economists to provide key economic information to delegates before they vote on specific legislation.
Charleston, W.Va. – This week will mark the first time since 1930 that there will be a Republican majority in the House of Delegates. Since the Capitol’s dedication in 1932, it will also be the first time ever that a Republican Speaker of House will preside in the chamber.
